Installation Guidelines

Our pergolas are designed to make outdoor living simple, stylish and long-lasting — but achieving the best possible finish starts with correct preparation and installation. This guide outlines the key requirements to consider before your installation, including surface levels, patio falls, electrical supply and general site readiness.

Whether you’re planning for a freestanding pergola, adding sliding glass doors or integrating heaters and motorised screens, following these guidelines will help ensure your structure performs exactly as intended for years to come.

If you are unsure about any aspect of your installation requirements, our team is always on hand to advise before works begin.

Patio Falls

The correct patio fall is essential to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your pergola.

For structures without sliding glass or solid aluminium sides, a fall of up to 1:80 is acceptable. This allows for natural drainage without affecting the structure or operation.

For designs incorporating sliding glass doors or solid aluminium side panels, a completely level surface is required. This ensures smooth operation, proper alignment, and long-term reliability of all moving components.

Electricity

Our pergolas are designed for straightforward installation and ease of use.

Each system operates via a single standard outdoor plug socket, making them plug-and-play with no hard wiring required.

When adding 2kW or 3kW heaters, additional electrical capacity may be needed. We strongly recommend consulting a qualified electrician to ensure your outdoor circuit can safely handle the increased load. Pergola heaters also require their own plug socket.

For pergolas with motorised side screens (Classic range), an additional plug socket is required per motorised screen.

Our Signature range is designed differently, and no additional sockets are required for motorised screens.
